Agalaus Art Festival - Voss, Norway. 29 – 31 May, 2015 Invited by the Norwegian Veterans Organisation he attended to give a selected presentation of work from 2005 to present. During the festival he also gave an Art Workshop to Norwegian military UN veterans dealing with post conflict experiences.

Exeter Spring Festival - Exeter Castle at the request of Exeter City Council 24 to 29 April 2013 Very well attended solo exhibition with many new works exhibited for the first time, including Diamond Dogs, Giza Complex and Journey's Round the Moon.

Aftermath PTSD 'Once were Warriors' Exhibition - Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) Exeter December 2012 to January 2013 It is estimated that more than 5,000 people came to the exhibition and their positive feedback made this a most memorable event, which received local, national press and radio coverage.  It is estimated that more than 100,000 people were reached in raising public awareness of Combat Related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Aftermath PTSD 'War Art' Exhibition - Exeter Castle - 18 to 26 June 2011 More than 1200 people came to the exhibition and their positive feedback and generosity, made this a most memorable event, which received local, national press and radio coverage.  It is estimated that more than 175,000 people were reached in raising public awareness of Combat Related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Aftermath - Other Worlds Visual Art Exhibition -John Creasy Museum Salisbury - 5 to 27 November 2010 John McDermott artist solo art show at the John Creasey Museum. This exhibition was  also supported by poet Marcus Wylie who presented interpretations of the art.

Aftermath - Visual Art Exhibition - Exeter Castle 25th June to 4th July 2010 With gratitude to Arts Council, England. A major collaboration with the celebrated artist Raya Herzig, a child survivor from the WWII German concentration camps in Poland.  This 10 day exhibition celebrated the survival of the human spirit despite the often unimaginable horrors of war and genocide.  Over 2,500 visitors attended, covered extensively by local and national news media.

25 years - Falkland Islands 17 to 30 June 2007 Solo exhibition at the invitation of the Falkland Islands Government. Sell out exhibition of  17 major works addressing the emotional response to armed conflict at an individual level.  The paintings are based on my personal diary of the 1982 conflict in the South Atlantic between Britain and Argentina.  The exhibition was attended by Prince Edward along with many cross party (past and present) political figures.  The complete set of paintings were later auctioned in support of the veterans refuge, Liberty Lodge, situated near Port Stanley on the Falkland Islands. http://www.pn.eb-host.com/PNArchive/2007/20070608.pdf  Page 21 and 22

Barbican Centre London Why war?  Solo Exhibition John McDermott Artist 13 to 27 June 2005 Two week solo show, exhibiting 7 recently completed works at 'The Curve' gallery, Barbican Centre London. This short notice exhibition was part of a larger conflict orientated theme exploring British civil response to armed conflict throughout the 20th century.   Sponsored by The City of London, Corporation.

Ox Markets Arts Centre, Chichester, UK Solo Exhibition by John McDermott Artist 9 to 23 April 2004 An eclectic  and busy 2 week solo show, exhibiting a variety of large abstract works coupled with smaller watercolours, many of which were purchased by members of the public.

London Museum, London, UK London AD 240 by John McDermott Artist on permanent exhibition since August 2004 Single piece work commissioned by the City of London, Corporation and Her Majesty's Court Services.  This is a 12 foot long watercolour depicting Roman London (as viewed from Newgate Street in AD240).  The work was later permanently placed on display at the front entrance of the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, London after an unveiling by the Lord Mayor of London.

Bernard Morgan House, London, UK Bacchus by John McDermott Artist on permanent exhibition since August 2003 Commissioned work for the City of London, Corporation comprising of 3 large panels forming a triptych conveying an ancient pastoral scene describing innocence and joy.
